Image provided by Guns Butter By now, most of us are familiar with Detroit Restaurant Week, the weeklong promotion when some of the most exclusive eateries in the city open their doors to the masses , offering three-course prix-fixe meals for $30 a person. Not to take anything away from DRW and all of its success more than 230,000 people have participated since its launch in 2009 but this year’s iteration includes something a little more my style. Allen Lieckfelt is hosting their exclusive , reservation-only pop-up Guns Butter dinner at the retail outlet for Shinola/Detroit LLC located at 441 W. Canfield St. in Midtown. I have never been to one of these dinners, and I feel my chances to check out the dinner are even slimmer, since chef and TV personality Anthony Bourdain (“No Reservations”) and WJBK FOX 2’s Charlie LeDuff attended the last one. (Nothing attracts a Detroit crowd like a LeDuff sighting.) In fact, not long after word got out about that pop-up dinner, my co-worker Amy Haimerl tried to get a seat at the exclusive table. She tried. “I am sorry to tell you that we are booked but don’t fret! We are announcing some more dates due to the demand. Keep an eye out via email, Facebook and Twitter. They are coming soon! Thank you for your support and interest in Guns
